The WAP simulator

The WAP simulator neither is a WAP search engine nor a WAP browser. The WAP simulator is the user interface of the WubscH search in its WAP directory.

On a WAP-enabled device (please go to: http://wap.wubsch.de) the WAP simulator browses all WAP sites listed in the WubscH WAP directory. On the Internet, it gives you an impression of how the WubscH WAP directory looks like in a WAP-enabled device.

The WAP simulator user interface offers you different search criteria such as search text listing, categories, language, .... Just type in what you are looking for and the WubscH search will go to find all matches. Relevant WAP sites are displayed in the result list at the top with direct links to the WML pages.

Following a short description of the query boxes:

"Search text listing" - looks for any matches to a word you typed in the box in the whole WAP directory. Attention!: Search text listing only works when "Index" is selected in the "Listing" box.
"Listing" - defines how the result list will appear. Choose one of the following possiblities:

• Index: show all main categories if no search item in "search text listing" is indicated. Mark the index-listing if the word you entered in "search text listing" should be searched for in all categories, in the description given by the owner, in the key words and in the title of the WAP site.
  
• TOP10: represent the WubscH Charts - WAP sites we consider as remarkable.
• A-Z: lists all WAP sites in alphabetical order. If your type a letter in "search text listing" (like M), all following sites will be listed (starting with "Music").
• Date: show WAP sites by entry dates, starting with the most actual entry.
• Keyword: limits the WubscH search to the all keywords given.

"Number of results" - defines how many WAP sites should be shown in the result list.
"Language of WAP-Site" - choose the language of the WAP sites: Every, English or German.
"Language of search module" - insert the language of the WAP simulator: English or German.
"Output format" - determines further information on the listed results. Choose one of these three possiblities:

• Link to HTML-Site: (only available on the WubscH web site) Results with HTML link are underlined. You will be referred directly to the web pages by clicking at one of these results.
• With date: results with their entry date in the WubscH WAP directory.
• Link to description: (only availiable on the WubscH web site) For every WAP site a short description of the content is requested. Results having such a description are underlined.

To get results to your inquiry, click on the "Show" button .

You can use the whole functionality of the WAP simulator also on the WubscH web pages at lower connectivity cost. Similar to the display of a WAP-enabled device you can enter search criteria in the WAP simulator and all WAP sites matching will be listed. A direct link to WML pages cannot be established from the Internet.. If a WAP site is entered with an Internet link, you get direct access to this information (see "Link to HTML-Site").
